About - Rainbow Bridge Crossing

Welcome to Rainbow Bridge Crossing. We understand the emotional journey that comes with providing at-home end-of-life care for your treasured pet. Pets are more than just animals; they are cherished family members, reliable companions, and trusted confidants. The prospect of the potential loss of a pet at home can feel overwhelming and daunting—it’s a sea of conflicting advice from friends, family, and sometimes even your pet’s veterinarian. On this website, we offer guidance to navigate the intricacies of end-of-life pet care, providing insights and support that empower you to make well-informed decisions. Collaborating with veterinarians experienced in these emotionally challenging times, we strive to deliver high-quality information that’s difficult to find elsewhere.

Mission and Goals:

Our mission is to provide information and support to pet owners whose beloved companions are facing serious illness and health challenges.

We understand that pet owners are often pressured by their own guilt, friends, family members, pets’ caregivers and the well-meaning advice of their pets’ veterinarians, to continue tests and procedures when they may not be in the pets’ best interest. We also recognize that the well-intentioned cycle of care can inadvertently result in prioritizing the desires of pet owners to keep their cherished pets alongside them over the pets’ well-being. Pets are eager to please their owners, even when enduring excruciating pain, and are unable to express their desire for a peaceful passing.

Our goals are to deliver veterinarian-reviewed information that:

  • Provide valuable insights on effective palliative care for pets, empowering pet owners to administer it themselves with the guidance of veterinarians.
  • Offer guidance and resources to help pet owners make informed decisions about their pets’ welfare, including navigating delicate topics like pet euthanasia.
  • Equip pet owners with the knowledge and resources needed to provide the best possible care for their beloved pets with serious illness and health challenges.
